The Fishers / HSE Youth Football league is pleased to announce our 4th year of the Spring 7 v 7 Developmental Football League. The purpose of the league is to focus on development of skill positions on both offense and defense. The focus will be on development, not wins and losses. There is no end of season tournament or participation trophies for this league. 

Registration Deadlines:   Registration is now open through March 22, 2011 but there will be a $10 late fee on forms received after January 31, 2011.
Please register on-line at www.hsesports.org.  Registration forms can also be downloaded from the SPORTS website and faxed or delivered to the SPORTS office.
 
Teams:
Teams will consist of 10 to 12 players based upon the number of players in the
league. Play will consist of 7 offensive players vs. 7 defensive players. All plays
will be passing plays, no running plays. Coaches will serve as referees for this
league.
 
Participation is limited to current 5th/6th graders and current 7th/8th graders.
 
The 7 v 7 Committee will review the evaluations and divide the teams as evenly as possible. Players will wear helmets, mouthpieces, jerseys, shorts and cleats.
 
The selection of quarterbacks allows for only 2 quarterbacks per team
determined at evaluations. If your child is interested in quarterbacking they must
attend evaluations. There are no exceptions to this rule.
 
Equipment:
Helmets will be supplied by the league and will require a $100.00 deposit check
that will not be cashed. When the league is over and the helmet is returned the
deposit check will be returned. .A deposit is required on the helmets for all
participants. No exceptions.
 
Coaches:
Coaches will be selected by the Coaches Committee following the same criteria
as the tackle league. Applications are due no later than March 22, 2011.
Applications are available at the SPORTS office and on this website.
 
Coaches Clinic:
Monday, April 18, 2011 at a site and time to be determined.
 
Evaluations:
Evaluations will be only be held for those interested in playing Quarterback.
Players should wear shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes.  Quarterback Evaluations will be held on March 26, 2011 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at a site to be determined.
 
Game Rules:
Standard league rules apply with the following exceptions:
* 2 twenty minute halves
* Quarterbacks will work off of a 7 v 7 “tee”
* Once the ball is removed from the tee and the QB drops back, a beep
            goes off in 3-4 seconds and the ball is then marked dead at that
spot if the pass is not thrown.
* Teams will all use the same offensive plays and defensive formations
provided by the 7 v 7 Committee.
 
 
Cost - $55.00 per child
 
Practice – April 25 – 28, 2011 with a limit of 4 practices. No practices once the season starts.
 
Games – will be on Sundays starting Sunday May 1, 2011 – May 22, 2011 at
Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern High Schools. Double headers will be played
each Sunday. Start time for the games is 5:00 pm
 
  

Responsibilities of a Team Parent

1)  Attend the team parent meeting & pick up uniforms.
 
2)  Get names on jerseys- make sure this is done before or after pictures, (so the team has jersey's for pics)- but before the 1st game.
 
3)  Make sure every family has signed a Code of Conduct form on your team - turn in any needed at picture day.
 
4a)  Organize picture day meeting place , gather all forms -line team up in order- write out roster for picture. (get a roster list from the cheerleader's mom if you have cheerleaders)
 
4b)  Pick up team pictures from the barn- hand them out to parents.
 
5)  Put stickers on helmets. (*this is at the coach's discretion- sometimes they do this themselves- it can be done by mom's during a practice & save the coach time)
 
6)  Make a snack/drink schedule for the team (check for allergies) *also coaches discretion- some have snacks and some don’t want snacks.
 
7)  Organize end of the year coach's gift- to give from the team.
 
8)  Head up fund raising - if we do one.
 
9)  Co-ordinate Coach / team communications (there make be schedule changes during the season-please check the website, it is hard to co-ordinate 100+ teams, and not need to make changes.)
 
10)  Planning end of the year party With the coaches. *At coaches discretion.
