Please see information for the 2010 Spring 7 on 7 league, registration on-line starts 1/1/2010. This is for grades 5 - 8.
In 2009 our league has over 1250 participants in flag and tackle making it the largest in the state as far as we know. Less than ten years ago our league had some 150 children. A league of this size takes a lot of work and tireless efforts from numerous VOLUNTEERS and I'm proud of the work that the football board and other volunteers have accomplished thus far.
In an effort to ensure 2010 runs smoothly, the following are some key items we want you to be aware of:
One Call/Website Communications: Please familiarize yourself with our website at http://www.hseyouthfootball.com/. While our One Call email/texting/voice service is our primary vehicle in which to communicate league specific items to the parents and the public, the website contains schedules and important reminders. Please check it frequently.
Mudsock Parking/The Bristols Neighborhood: We once again are working diligently to ease congestion at Mudsock on Saturdays. Like last year, we have spaced the games out in an effort to reduce traffic and limit parking problems. We are instructing coaches to NOT warm up at Mudsock Park (unless they are the first game on one of the fields). Please be patient entering and leaving Mudsock and obey all speed limits in The Bristols. Please be aware of the children in the area. Do NOT park where there is a "No Parking" sign. There will be law enforcement in place enforcing all parking restrictions and issuing tickets throughout the season.
New Concession Stands and Restrooms: 2010 information forth-coming.
Code of Conduct: Good sportsmanship by players, coaches, parents and fans is an essential component of our league. Each player and his parents should have signed a code of conduct form. If you did not sign one, you need to before your child can play. A copy of the Code of Conduct is on our website. Please treat all officials, coaches, parents, fans, commissioners and board members with respect.
Coaches: All of our coaches are volunteers. We realize some are more experienced than others. If you have a question or problem with your child's coach, we request that you first approach the coach politely and attempt to resolve any issue. If you and your coach cannot work out the problem, then you should contact your league's commissioner (contact information for all league commissioners is available on the website). Please follow up with the league President if necessary. Please keep the children out of any discussions and handle the situation in a mature, adult manner.
Hydration: Keep your kids hydrated. It may be hot at times and they need to be drinking water all day long. Make sure they bring water to practice and games.
Injuries: If your child gets injured and requires medical attention, the coach is required to fill out an injury report form and get key information from you. The report then gets sent to the Commissioner, the league President, and the SPORTS office. Football is an aggressive game. As a result, some injuries will occur. Please do your part and help your coach fill out an injury report if your child is injured.
Pets: No pets are allowed at Mudsock; please keep them at home.
Mudsock Park Warning: Please don't wander off Mudsock Park premises while you and your family members are attending games. There are a lot of neighbors that surround Mudsock Park, and we ask that you stay at Mudsock Park and not on their property. In particular, there is private property in a wooded area just south of Forum Credit Union/Field No. 3. Please keep all children out of the woods and OFF the gravel driveway and that property. It is not part of Mudsock Park.
Trash: PLEASE pick up your trash at Mudsock and at all school practice facilities. We are guests at these facilities and we need to do a better job this year of keeping Mudsock and all school practice and game facilities clean.
Transportation and Requests for Assistance: If you need any assistance on game day, please look for the Methodist Sports Medicine golf cart to assist with handicapped patrons and anyone needing assistance to and from the parking lot.
